Establishment of IFCOB - Institute for climate friendly buildings at Dhaka University by Prof. Bashinul Haq and Prof. Norbert Pintsch. The purpose of the institution is to acquaint the students of architecture with the various problems of construction in the rural areas taking local conditions (construction material, climate, social structure) into consideration.
Prof. Bashinul Haq has studied, among others, at NCA Lahore, Pakistan. His special contribution is the publication regarding construction techniques under the international projects of the EXPO2000 in Germany.

Prof. Norbert Pintsch has many years of experience in local and international projects (for example EXPO2000 in Germany). He works together with different organizations and his interest spans from research station for experiments and pilot projects to constructional measures for buildings in cyclone and flood affected areas, temporary guest house with low-tech utilities using local construction materials at a tree nursery project, for use by foreign tourists to designing measures for improvement of handicraft products of NGOs in rural areas.
